Our new Valiant Collection has straps made from hand-cut upcycled British fire hose that has served and protected the UK Fire & Rescue Service for over 10 years. Each cut is completely unique and tells its own story. You can still smell the rich smokiness in the rubber! We have also melted down a 1920's London Fire Brigade helmet into our watch crowns all crafted in London's iconic jewellery district of Hatton Garden. This is all done by a family ran business with over 40 years experience dealing with precious metals. It took us over 4 months of sampling just to perfect this part of the watch. But now, we are proud to say that any customer who wears a William Wood watch is wearing a real piece of firefighting history.
We find affiliate partnerships very rewarding for us and the Publishers we partner with. Our customers are based all around the world so our product has international appeal. We are also growing significantly in the US in terms of actual sales. Our customer base consists of men within the age range of 35 to 65 who are either watch enthusiasts or part of the firefighting community. Therefore, our watches have an appeal to a broad range of male customers.
In January 2020, we teamed up with 23 Swiss luxury watch brands including Rolex, Hublot and Tag Heuer and auctioned off a custom-made Valiant Collection watch made with red fire hose straps. The watch has the iconic koala bear logo as seen below which represents the powerful image of the Australian firefighter saving the koala bear from the bushfire. We also engraved the caseback with the limited edition number 000 as these 3 digits represent the number you call to reach the Australian emergency services. Although our watch retails for £799.99 this piece was sold for $5,000 with all the money going to support the bushfire crisis in Australia. Across all the watches sold by Time + Tide Watches we raised $200,000 - a remarkable achievement!
In May 2020, we will be auctioning another customised Valiant Collection watch in support of International Firefighters Day. All proceeds raised from the auction will go to Shout, the 24 hour mental health helpline launched by Prince William for ‘bluelight’ emergency services workers, and The Fire Fighters Charity UK.
